'MyPillow guy' endorses Jason Lewis

It’s the moment we’ve all been losing sleep wondering about: Who will the MyPillow guy endorse in the 2nd congressional district?

Well, now you can rest easy. MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell has made a decision. He’s going with the Republican — incumbent Congressman Jason Lewis.

This may not come as a surprise, given how cozy Lindell has been with a certain president lately. In fact, we assume it’s OK to call Lindell “MyPillow guy” now, since that’s what President Donald Trump called him during a Fargo rally in June. In fact, he spent about as much time praising Lindell as the guy he was there to buttress, Congressman Kevin Cramer.

“He’s the greatest,” Trump said of Lindell. “He does make a great product, great pillows. He’s been a supporter from day one... he’s been with us right from the beginning.”

Lindell got cozy with Lewis, too, at his Shakopee pillow factory on Oct. 17.

How cozy? The two posed for a photo in a bed on the factory floor, giving a thumbs-up.

Well, one thing led to another and by Friday, Lindell had officially endorsed Lewis.

“He has been an amazing congressman for my employees for the last two years,” Lindell said in a press release. “And he supported the president in 2016, and he supports him now.”

Lindell noted that following passage of Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, he gave his employees an across the board raise.

Lewis thanked Lindell in a press release, saying, “I am honored to have received the endorsement from one of Minnesota’s greatest business owners, Mike Lindell.”

“Throughout my first-term in Congress, we’ve worked to advance tax reform and undo the burdensome regulations harming businesses like My Pillow,” Lewis continued. “It is crucial we continue our efforts so that job creators like Mike Lindell are able to continue to invest in our families and our state.”

Lindell founded MyPillow in 2004 and says he has since sold over 40 million pillows and expanded the company to 15 retail locations, with more than 1,600 employees, including two locations in Shakopee employing nearly 1,000 people.
