Ben Kusch, who resigned as Shakopee High School principal at the end of the school year, has been named the lead designer for the TriDistrict Career and College Readiness Initiative, involving three school districts and high schools.

The districts are Mendota Heights-Eagan-West St. Paul, South St. Paul, and Inver Grove Heights (Sibley High School, South St. Paul High School, and Simley High School, respectively). In the position, Kusch will help create a collaborative academy structure across the three districts and high Schools, similar to what is occurring at Shakopee High School. The three high schools combined have approximately the same enrollment as Shakopee High School.

Kusch was Shakopee High School principal for two years. He said he resigned to have more time to spend with his family. Kusch was principal at Farmington High School before coming to Shakopee on July 1, 2014. He replaced Kim Swift, who retired. The Shakopee School District is interviewing principal candidates this week.
