Help law enforcement raise money for Special Olympics

The Shakopee Police Department is hosting its 16th annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics on Wednesday, June 19.

The public is invited to participate and help raise funds for Special Olympics. Runners, bicyclists and rollerbladers are welcome. A vehicle will be available for anyone who needs a break.

Registration includes a T-shirt. All proceeds go directly to the Special Olympics. The Special Olympics will also be donating used bicycles as door prizes. Anyone who participates will be eligible to win a bicycle.

Time: 8:30 a.m. In-person registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K starts at 9 a.m.

Registration cost is $20. Contact Sgt. John Buetow at 952-233-9426 with questions.

The starting line at Shakopee Police Department is located at 475 Gorman St., Shakopee.
