Children and adults of all abilities can soon come together and have fun at Shakopee’s new inclusive playground, which was almost fully put together by volunteers last weekend.

The Fun for All Playground, located at Lions Park, will open in November after the concrete is poured and the rubber surfacing is installed. The playground is unique in that it’s made with people of all abilities in mind. Inclusive playgrounds cater not only to children in wheelchairs, but also to adults and children with mental, developmental and sensory disabilities. The closest inclusive playground to Shakopee is Kings Park in Lakeville.
