Scott County residents can drop off yard waste for free at the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community's Organics Recycling Facility on Sundays until May 26, the community announced Wednesday.

The facility will accept grass clippings, leaves, mulch, brush, straw and hay bales, plants, flowers and compostable paper products from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Sunday except Easter Sunday on April 21, according to a news release.

Residents must bring ID to show they live in the county. Others can drop off waste for $10 a load.

The ORF accepts yard waste in the spring and fall and converts it into soil amendments that can be used for organic farming, gardening and landscaping. It's located at 1905 Mystic Lake Drive S. in Shakopee.
