Bill Schleper took this sunrise photo over Shakopee with a Phantom 4-Pro drone on June 20 at 5:15 a.m.
“That day also happened to be my 16th wedding anniversary to my wife, Kristi!” he wrote in his submission.
He was up early to deliver MinnesotaNICE bottled water to Tahpah Park for the weekend youth baseball tournament.
“Just figured I’d pack my drone and bring it along in case there was a good sunrise! I thought there might be a good one since they were predicting storms in the evening, and as the old saying goes, ‘Red sky at night, sailors’ delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning’ so I was guessing there would be some color if the clouds broke up enough. Just didn’t know it would be THIS much color! I was just sorry it only lasted a few minutes before it faded into a “normal” sky, which means I only got a few shots at it before it was gone. Just glad I got the drone up in the air when I did!”
