The Shakopee Police Department responded to and provided summaries for the following incidents June 15-22. The Valley News does not include a comprehensive list of calls to which the department responded. Incidents are included here based on severity, impact on public safety or other factors.
June 15 A 32-year-old man from Minneapolis was arrested for terroristic threats and fifth-degree domestic assault in the 2100 block of Sandhill Drive at 5:56 p.m. The victim suffered minor bodily harm, police said.
A motor vehicle was reported stolen in the 300 block of Shawnee Trail at 4:20 p.m. The car was later found with the reporting party’s ex-boyfriend.
June 17 An unknown suspect tried cashing a fraudulent check made out from My Brother’s Keeper, 136 Holmes St., at 11:16 a.m. The report does not indicate how much cash the suspect attempted to take out.
Unemployment insurance fraud was reported in the 1600 block of Thistle Lane at 3:01 p.m.
June 18 A residential burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Primrose Lane at 2:17 p.m. The reporting party returned from camping to find a rock had been thrown into a window, and $500 worth of items were stolen from the victim’s bedroom.
June 19 A 32-year-old Shakopee man was arrested in connection with domestic assault (causing fear) and interfering on a 911 call in the 500 block of Spencer Street at 10:29 p.m.
June 20 A 14-year-old girl was arrested for fifth-degree domestic assault at Kensington Drive around 10 p.m.
An 18-year-old Shakopee woman was arrested for fifth-degree domestic assault and on a Department of Corrections warrant in the 400 block of Dakota Street at 6:08 p.m.
Officers responded to reports of an assault at Walmart, 8101 Old Carriage Court, at 8:44 a.m., when an employee was reportedly attacked by a customer and suffered minor signs of injury.
June 22 A 26-year-old Jordan man was arrested for fifth-degree drug possession (heroin) and a felon in possession of a firearm. A 24-year-old Shakopee woman accompanying the man was arrested for with two counts fifth-degree drug possession (heroin and THC) and a Scott County warrant at a traffic stop at Hergott Memorial Drive and Southbridge at 6:14 p.m.
Officers responded to reports of an assault at Canterbury Park, 1100 Canterbury Road, at 4:10 p.m. Police said two people got into a physical altercation in the parking lot and that nobody involved wanted to press charges.
